As trees take so long to grow to a sell able stage, we grow the most popular shrubs in 4 lt, 10 lt, and 20 lt bags. These shrubs are grown for Highveld conditions. We specialist in hedging shrubs and try to stock large quantities for corporate developments. These shrubs are under micro-irrigation and are pruned regularly to produce a bushy, full plant that looks attractive. Our fertilization and disease control program, guarantees a healthy plant. GroundcoversWe grow indigenous groundcovers and grasses for all types of gardens. Our price and quality is guaranteed low and our volumes high. Contact us for an availability list. Although our creeping groundcover selection is kept to a minimum, we have a large selection in which we grow the popular indigenous and exotic grass-like groundcovers. Certain species like Dietes species, Agapanthus, Tulbaghia Species, Kniphofia Species, Juncus, Chondropetalum and Acorus species are always available. We grow them in large quantities specifically for Highveld conditions. Most of our grasses are grown in 4 lt bags. We grow grasses on contract for large landscapers and landscaping projects and are able to grow them to a suitable size in a short period of time, due to our favourable climate. Most of our grasses are grown under 40 % shade netting.
Wholesale Nursery Trees My love for indigenous trees comes from a young age and diverging from being a woodwork teacher I got involved in growing trees for landscaping projects. We currently have around 175,000 trees in stock in various bag sizes. We grow the more popular indigenous and exotic trees mainly for the Highveld. We have 80 different species on the farm and the majority under drip irrigation. Our trees range from 10lt to 100lt bags. We are in the process of adding 2ha of 200lt trees. Most of our seeds are collected and germinated on the farm.
All our trees are staked and tied and our most popular line is the 20 lt size. We try to grow our 20 lt trees to 1.8 m and taller before we market them. However the demand for 20 lt trees has far outgrown the supply. We stock 40 lt, 100 lt. and a selected group of 200 lt trees. Our trees are grown from seed and withstand our weather conditions as they are not grown under netting. Please feel free to contact us and we could send through some photographs for your perusal. About the Wholesale NurseryIlnika Wholesale Nursery
The farm was bought in 2001 and the original idea was to grow some plants for the landscaping in JHB. The good weather and perfect witness made it a weather and perfect winters made it a ideal farm for growing hauts and soon the first tunnel was built. We spent weekends digging the holes and soon we erected 3 more tunnels and filled them with plants. The trees in 4 lt bags soon grew to over a meter tall and I had to transplant them and that's when i started the frames. The trees are packed on the frame to prevent them from blowing over. The tree frames are also used to keep the stems straight. In the beginning i bought my cuttings from local suppliers but later started doing my own cuttings in a plastic tunnel i bought at a auction. This made the small bags more portable and allowed me to produce more stock. In 2004 just before the 3 kids started school we decided to relocate to the farm and sold our house in JHB. Jon Jackson bought into the JHB based Landscaping business and continued the successes we had in the past by excellent service and product delivery. In 1995 we sent our first samples track on the road. We sold out all our stock in a season and that was when i decided to specialise in less species but stock large quantities. We supply most nurseries, landscapers, contractors and municipalities nationwide. We have fertilizer consultant that consults us on water quality; ph and eo levels on a monthly basis and makes recommendations. We also have 2 expert companies looking after the well being of the well being of the plants and suggested a spraying programme for insects, fungi and aphids. Be assure that you will only receive a wealthy and happy plant from Ilnika Wholesale Nursery Pages: [1] |
